Getting Started
It brings us great joy to make Mafu's Global Darshans available to you online!
To receive the darshans on your computer you need three things:
- Windows 98 SE or later (Mac coming soon)
- Windows Media Player Series 9 or
later
- An Internet connection capable of receiving 22 kbps for the audio only darshans, or
300 kbps
to receive the video darshans

Internet Explorer 5 or later is recommended for viewing this website. If you need help in determining if you have Windows
Media Player Series 9 or if you need help in acquiring it, see the More Information section below.
Once you have what you need, please test your system and enjoy viewing the short video compilation of Mafu or listen to Mafu's
invocation of the Global Darshan series by clicking on the "Play Samples" link in the navigation bar to your left.
If you have technical difficulties you cannot resolve, please send an e-mail using the form on the
"Contact Us" page.
We are excited to offer you the opportunity to listen to, and hopefully watch, Mafu via your computer in your home.

More Information
The Global Darshans are offered in Microsoft Windows Streaming Media format and you will need the Series 9 version
(or later) of the Windows Media Player installed on your computer in order to play back the streamed audio or video darshans.

Windows Media Player Series 9
To determine if you have Windows Media Player Series 9 or an earlier version, launch Windows Media Player and then
click on "Help" and then click on "About Windows Media Player". The version will be displayed.
Windows Media Player Series 9 is available free from Microsoft and is available for Windows 98
Second Edition and later.
If you don't have Windows Media Player Series 9 (or later)
installed, before proceeding to play any of our sample files, please
click on the following link to download and install it or, if you have an earlier version already installed, you can
launch Windows Media Player and then click on "Help" and then on "Check for Player Updates".

Internet Explorer
The globalvideo.mafu.com website is optimized for Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 and above although IE 6.0 or above
is recommended. You can determine the version of Internet Explorer you have by launching Internet Explorer and then
clicking on "Help" and then "About Internet Explorer". You can download the latest version of
Internet Explorer from within Internet Explorer by clicking on "Tools" then "Windows Update" or
you can click on the following link to visit Microsoft's Internet Explorer website.

Internet Connection
A broadband intenet connection (cable, DSL, Satellite, T1) will be required to receive the video darshans streamed via
the internet. The video darshans are encoded at 300 kbps and you will need an internet connection capable of
receiving at a sustained rate of 300 kbps in order to view the video darshans uninterrupted.
The audio only darshans are encoded at 22 kbps and are designed for people using dial-up connections capable of receiving
at a sustained rate of 22 kbps. Your connection will have to be approximately 33 kbps or greater to receive the 22
kbps audio stream uninterrupted.
The best measure of whether your interent connection is capable of receiving either a 300 kbps video stream or a 22
kbps audio stream is to play the audio or video darshan samples.
